Two Penn College students won medals at the 54th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. Announced as winners Friday evening were Landon J. Miller, an automated manufacturing technology major from Loganton, who captured the gold in CNC Milling Specialist, and Owen R. Dougherty, of Allison Park, enrolled in building automation technology: heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology concentration, who took the silver in HVAC-Refrigeration. "The students did a great job and we lost some close ones," said James N. Colton II, assistant professor of welding and the college's SkillsUSA adviser. "Many of the students will be back next year to compete and hopefully we can get more students to national level next year." A total of 53 Penn College students have won medals at nationals over the years.
