'Impossible Dream' Within Reach at CAC Summer Production

"Man of La Mancha"The Community Arts Center, in collaboration with Lycoming College, will present the 2018 Student Summer Stock production of "Man of La Mancha" from July 27-29. Inspired by "Don Quixote," Miguel de Cervantes’ 17th-century masterpiece, the Tony Award winner is one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history. Powerful, brutal, hilarious and heartbreaking, "Man of La Mancha" celebrates the transforming power of perception and how hope can alter even the most desperate reality. The show's cast is comprised of 25 excelling students from 10 high schools in Lycoming and five surrounding counties; Aaron White, a member of Lycoming College's theater department, is directing. Student Summer Stock has become a hub for fostering and developing young theater artists, a true testament to the quality and quantity of talent in the region. The program provides students the opportunity to collaborate with professional theater-makers and a skilled technical staff, delivering powerful performances on top-notch sets, in lush costumes and under dynamic lighting from professional designers. "Man of La Mancha," with a celebrated score that includes "The Impossible Dream" and "Dulcinea," will be no exception! Take a thrilling ride through the imagination of Don Quixote de La Mancha, knight errant and defender of the right; shows are 7:30 p.m. July 27-28 and 2:30 p.m. July 29.
