Penn College Cru hosted a seed-packing event in Penn's Inn on Saturday, prepping shipments of vegetable seeds that will be part of a broader aid package to East Africa and the Middle East. The activity was put on by Experience Missions of Cogan Station and sponsored by Centered Earth of Muncy, in partnership with GAiN (Cru's humanitarian arm). The packets were filled with collard-green seeds, which will continue to produce beyond a single harvest and which represent the equivalent of about 10,000 pounds of food. Medical treatment, as well as agricultural and spiritual education, will accompany the delivery to refugees from violence and natural disasters.
