Monday, February 26, 2018

An automotive restoration technology student scheduled to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology in May has received a $1,500 scholarship from the Antique Automobile Club of America.

Hallie Krala, of Williamsport, was presented with the Louise Bianchi Chiotti Memorial Scholarship Award during AACA's 82nd annual meeting. The event, sponsored this year by the organization’s Hershey Region, was held Feb. 8-10 at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel.

Penn College student Hallie Krala celebrates her scholarship award with Preston T. Rose, who earned a two-year degree in automotive restoration technology last year. Krala, of Williamsport, is set to graduate from the same major in May. “The Antique Automobile Club of America is proud to recognize the hard work and talents of students like Hallie through our scholarship program,” said Tabetha T. Hammer, senior manager of car culture for Hagerty, with a proven record of youth advocacy in restoration. “Hallie's love for the automobile and commitment to success made her an excellent recipient for the Louise Bianchi Chiotti Memorial Scholarship. We are proud of Hallie and thrilled to have her as part of the AACA family.”

The award encourages continuing education and stimulates interest in AACA and automotive history, and is presented to a deserving student nominated by a faculty member at an accredited institution. It was instituted and funded by David and Marilyn Chiotti to honor David’s mother – who nurtured his interest in vintage vehicles – and to support young men and women engaged in restoration.
