Financial Aid Office Offering FAFSA Completion Session

Wednesday, January 10, 2018

The Financial Aid Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering its resources to help current college students, prospective students and families complete the 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

The college is hosting a free FAFSA completion session on its main campus for staff to assist with the online application. The FAFSA is required by colleges and universities to determine student eligibility for federal and state grants, loans and scholarships.

The session is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. in room 1049 of the college’s Student & Administrative Services Center. Students attending or planning to enroll at any college or university are invited. Students who are 23 or younger should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Most first-time students can complete the FAFSA within 45 minutes. Attendees planning to submit their application during the session should create a student and/or parent FSA ID at least three days prior.

They should also bring copies of their 2016 financial documents, including federal tax returns, W-2 forms, untaxed income statements, record of child support paid or received, and the amount of their current assets.

Most student and parent taxpayers will be eligible to use the time-saving IRS Data Retrieval process during the session.

“We want current and prospective students to ensure they are maximizing their financial resources. The information and personal service provided at the free FAFSA completion session should certainly advance that goal,” said Dennis L. Correll, associate dean for enrollment management at Penn College.

Registration is preferred. For more information and to register, call the Financial Aid Office at 570-327-4766 or email the Financial Aid Office.

Admissions staff and student ambassadors will be available to answer questions about Penn College and to offer campus tours.
