Thirteen Students Selected for Penn College NOW Scholarships

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently recognized 13 first-year students who received Penn College NOW scholarships.
The recipients completed Penn College courses during high school as part of the college’s Penn College NOW dual-enrollment program. The group was honored during an Oct. 27 reception.
To be eligible, students must have successfully completed at least one Penn College NOW course, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Penn College NOW classes, enroll in Penn College as a full-time freshman student for the fall semester after high school graduation, and maintain a 2.5 GPA at Penn College as an enrolled student.
Recipients for 2017-18 are:
- Michael L. Gardner, of Williamsport, who earned 24 credits at Williamsport Area High School and is pursuing a degree in residential construction technology and management: building construction technology concentration.
- Cheyenne N. Greene, of Jersey Shore, who earned six credits at Jersey Shore Area High School and is enrolled in pre-dental hygiene.
- Kayley E. Johnson, of Bloomsburg, who earned eight credits at Columbia-Montour Area Vocational-Technical School and is enrolled in pre-occupational therapy assistant.
- Deontae Z. Johnson, of Selinsgrove, who earned 12 credits at SUN Area Technical Institute and is pursuing a degree in electronics and computer engineering technology.
- Vincent R. Keene, of Downingtown, who earned three credits at Technical College High School – Brandywine Campus and is pursuing a degree in automotive technology.
- Kylee E. Kelley, of Lock Haven, who earned 12 credits at Central Mountain High School and is pursuing a degree in nursing.
- Warren E. Knipe, of Liberty, who earned seven credits at North Penn-Liberty High School and is pursuing a degree in engineering CAD technology.
- Tyler W. Miller, of Montgomery, who earned six credits at Montgomery Area High School and is pursuing a degree in graphic design.
- Tavor T. Wadsworth, of Williamsport, who earned 22 credits at Williamsport Area High School and is pursuing a degree in electrical technology.
- Luke B. Walter, of Millmont, who earned 16 credits at SUN Area Technical Institute and is pursuing a degree in welding technology.
- Brittany M. Weiskopff, of Blossburg, who earned six credits at North Penn-Mansfield High School and is pursuing a degree in accounting.
- Clayton T. Welch, of Benton, who earned four credits at Benton Area High School and is pursuing a degree in culinary arts technology.
- Jeremy M. Wolfgang, of Allenwood, who earned 12 credits at Montgomery Area High School and is pursuing a degree in emergency management technology.
Penn College NOW is a nationally accredited dual-enrollment program that allows academically qualified high school students to earn Penn College credits through courses taught by approved high school teachers at the students’ home high schools or career and technology centers. Forty-nine academic partners around the state participate in Penn College NOW.
The courses are the same as those offered to students on the Penn College campus, using the same textbooks and exams, but are offered free to the high schoolers.
