Diversity-Related Events Make a World of Difference

Penn College's commitment to inclusiveness was reflected in a pair of events this past week: the first in a planned monthly series of "Diversi-tea" dialogues and a themed dinner to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The former kicked off with a student-led discussion of relevant cultural issues, including the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigration policy, and the latter – among commemorative activities that included a concert, movie and campus displays – featured a Dining Services-prepared meal in Dauphin Hall.

Palates were rewarded through an authentic menu that included chorizo sausage, pulled pork tacos with adobo chilies and red wine vinegar, chicken breasts stewed with peppers and onions in a mole sauce, paella, ceviche (a seafood dish), rice and beans, potato salad, tamales, and desserts.
