Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s soccer team tasted action in the North Eastern Athletic Conference for the first time last week with split results.

On Tuesday at the Elizabethtown College Invitational, the Wildcats tied for 12th among 28 teams with a 322 score. Stevenson “Green” won with a 302. Individually for Penn College, Eli Dyer, of Wallingford, Connecticut, tied for 34th after shooting a 79 while Ned Baumbach, of Elizabethtown; Ben Fails, of Hummelstown, and Brian Whelan, of Cresco, each tied for 49th after shooting 81s. David Herbst, of Lebanon Valley College, topped the 135-player field with an even-par 71.
Men’s/Women’s Cross-Country
The Penn College men finished 14th in a 16-team field and the women 17th in a 19-team field at the Lock Haven University Invitational on Saturday. Josh Velez, of Lewistown, placed 37th among 217 runners in 26:57 to lead the Wildcat men over an 8K course while Sidney Trunzo, of Williamsport, placed 33rd among 230 runners in 23:37 over a 6K course to pace the Penn College women.
Men’s Soccer
Hosting Summit University on Tuesday, Penn College scored a 3-1 win. The Wildcats led in shots, 12-9 (9-3 on goal), and corner kicks, 4-1. Penn College goalkeeper Hunter Gosnell, of Westminster, Maryland, had a pair of saves.
At home with SUNY Poly on Saturday, Penn College opened NEAC play with a 1-0 overtime win when Austin Dowrick, of Olney, Maryland, scored at 97:59 as the Wildcats went to 3-5 overall. Goalkeeper Malcolm Kane, of Ardsley, made three saves in the shutout.
In North Eastern Athletic Association action this week: Host Wells College (1-3-1 overall, 0-0 NEAC North Division through Saturday), 7 p.m. Wednesday; at Cazenovia College (3-3 overall, 0-1 NEAC North Division through Saturday), 1 p.m. Saturday.

Gosnell tied for third with six goals allowed. Chris McFarland, of Coatesville, is third in shots in the NEAC with 23 and tied for fourth with three assists.

Hosting SUNY Poly in their first NEAC match on Saturday, the Wildcats lost 2-1 in double overtime to go to 2-4-1 overall. Penn College led in shots, 18-6 (6-8 on goal), and in corner kicks, 12-3, but only could connect on a goal by Hailee Hartman, of Lampeter.
