Penn College's Theta-Phi Chapter of Sigma Pi fraternity has received a national Silver Standards of Excellence award for the 2016-17 school year.
To achieve that honor, members worked together to accomplish many goals, such as amassing a total of 586 community-service hours, raising more than $1,400 for local charities and many other activities – activities that helped better themselves and the community.
"I am excited that the chapter has received the Silver Standards of Excellence from the Sigma Pi national organization," said chapter President Andrew A. Smith, an aviation maintenance technology major from Philadelphia. "We worked hard every day, completing the requirements that our headquarters required of us. We now know that every year we should be able to receive silver ... but our goal is to get gold for this upcoming year."
