Tuesday, May 2, 2017

The sun rose Tuesday morning on this uprooted tree, lying atop the playground at the Dunham Children's Learning Center.General Services was kept busy assessing the extent of damage and mobilizing cleanup efforts. The whirr of chain saws was a familiar sound due to scenes like this outside The Victorian House ...... and alongside the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center.Metal fencing was no match for Mother Nature, who sent this tree limb onto the tennis courts.A powerful storm that brought 65-mph winds and a tornado threat to Lycoming County on Monday toppled trees and caused service outages at Penn College – but, thankfully, there were no reports of injuries. General Services crews were dispatched even as the rain persisted, continuing with storm cleanup well past daybreak. College Police, too, tended to the aftermath on multiple fronts, and Information Technology Services burned the midnight oil to restore Internet and email access.
