Noncredit Computer Courses Scheduled at Penn College

For those looking to sharpen their computer skills while learning something new, Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering several stress-free computer courses this summer.



Course offerings include:

WordPress.com: Beginner’s Guide to Creating a Website or Blog
6 to 9 p.m. Monday evenings, July 10 and 17
Discover WordPress, the largest free self-hosted blogging tool in the world. Millions of people have chosen WordPress to create stunning websites, with thousands of plug-ins and themes to transform your site into almost anything imaginable. WDCE offers a basic, noncredit class in WordPress, designed for those new to the platform. Topics include using WordPress as a free web host, creating your site and customizing the web design without needing to be a programmer.

Beginner's Guide to Computers and Microsoft Office
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 27
Are you or a loved one new to computers or Microsoft applications? WDCE is offering a beginner’s noncredit computer class in which participants can learn to create basic files in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The class is paced for the novice, and includes time for questions and answers in a relaxed environment.

Microsoft Excel Levels 1 and 2
Level 1: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 28
Level 2: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 26
Discover the powerful features of Microsoft Excel when WDCE offers two noncredit computer classes in the widely used spreadsheet program.

In Excel Level 1, participants will gain the skills necessary to create basic worksheets, perform calculations, and modify and format worksheets. Excel Level 2 is designed for those desiring to gain advanced skill sets necessary for calculating data using functions and formulas, sorting and filtering data, visualizing data using charts, using PivotTables and PivotCharts for analyzing data, and customizing workbooks.
