College Community Helps Food Bank Fulfill Crucial Mission
Thursday, November 17, 2016
Helping neighbors in need, Bison Battalion cadets from Penn College and Lycoming College prepared boxes at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank's Williamsport site on Tuesday night. About a dozen volunteers from the ROTC program added their collaborative might to the agency's fight against hunger. The food bank's packaging and distribution operation also benefits monthly from the contributions of the Fabulous Food Packers, a group that includes a number of Penn College employees. Led by Marianne E. DePasqua, a client development specialist with Workforce Development & Continuing Education, the group was named a 2016 Hunger Hero this season for its service to the nonprofit.
