Two Pennsylvania College of Technology welding students are recipients of a national industry scholarship.
Stephanie M. Puckly, a welding and fabrication engineering technology major from Spartansburg, and Gavin P. Bachman, a welding technology major from Slatington, each received a $2,500 Air Products Welding Scholarship, provided by the Air Products Foundation.
Air Products provides atmospheric, process and specialty gases; performance materials; equipment; and technology. The company has more than 20,000 employees and operates in 50-plus countries. The Air Productions Foundation provides philanthropic support to enhance opportunities in several areas, including education, health and human services, community and economic development, and safety and sustainability.
“It is a testament to the quality of our welding program to have two students receive the scholarship from Air Products,” said David R. Cotner, dean of Penn College’s School of Industrial, Computing & Engineering Technologies. “The honor is well-deserved for Stephanie and Gavin. Both students are dedicated to welding and will be very prepared for the variety of rewarding career opportunities that the industry affords.”
In addition to its bachelor’s degree in welding and fabrication engineering technology and associate degree in welding technology, Penn College offers a certificate in welding.
