Agreements Clear Path for Students to Pursue Additional Degrees

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently approved articulation agreements with several other institutions to ease students’ pathways to further education.
An agreement with York County School of Technology enables students who earn an adult education diploma in mechatronics/industrial controls to transfer credits from the program to Penn College’s associate degree in mechatronics engineering technology.
An agreement with Northcentral Technical College, in Wisconsin, permits those who have completed an associate degree in automotive technology to apply major-specific credits to Penn College’s bachelor’s degree in automotive technology management, allowing them to complete the degree with four additional semesters of coursework. The Penn College coursework may be taken online if the Northcentral Technical College graduate meets requirements.
Similarly, graduates of Schoolcraft College’s welding: joining technology associate degree may enter Penn College’s bachelor’s degree in welding and fabrication engineering technology with an expectation to complete their coursework with an additional four semesters of full-time study. Schoolcraft College is in Michigan.
An additional articulation agreement provides a pathway for Penn College radiography graduates to enter South Hills School of Business and Technology’s diagnostic medical sonography professional diploma program. The course of study is designed for those who already hold a two- or four-year degree in a medical imaging specialty.
“We are very pleased to develop these partnerships to provide transferable pathways for students,” said Jennifer I. Watson, coordinator of transfer initiatives at Penn College. “Our objective at Penn College is to communicate pathways that are time-efficient and support degree attainment.”
