Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Athletics Department has announced its 2016 Hall of Fame class: Greg J. Solyak, 2011, men's basketball; Tamara L. Pavlov, '11, women's cross-country; Craig S. Flint, '09, men's basketball/golf; and Bambi Hawkins, women's volleyball coach.
The inductees will enter the Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 30, in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Solyak was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team from 2008-11, and helped lead the Wildcats to four straight playoff appearances. Solyak, a 2011 United States Collegiate Athletic Association Honorable Mention All-America selection, scored 400 or more points in each of his final three seasons, before wrapping up his career as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,629 career points.
Pavlov is one of the most accomplished runners in Penn College history. She won the Penn State University Athletic Conference Championship in 2007 and finished runner-up in each of her final three seasons from 2008-10. A four-time All-PSUAC selection, Pavlov placed in the top 10 at the USCAA National Championships three times.
Flint was a two-sport standout in men’s basketball and golf from 2006-09. On the hardwood, Flint finished his career with (at the time) a school-record 1,196 points, helped lead the Wildcats to a pair of postseason appearances and was named All-PSUAC in his senior season. On the links, Flint was a two-time All-PSUAC selection in 2006 and 2008 and helped lead Penn College to PSUAC Championships in each of those seasons. As a senior, Flint was named USCAA All-American after he finished fifth at the national championships.
Hawkins became Penn College’s first women’s volleyball head coach in 2000 and spent 13 years on the sideline guiding the Wildcats. She finished her coaching career with 184 wins, a 2004 Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference Championship, a Co-PSUAC Championship in 2012, and four PSUAC runner-up finishes.
