Pennsylvania College of Technology student Jonathan T. Hall, of Williamsport, was named one of two recipients of the National Association of College & University Food Services Mid-Atlantic Region’s Nancy W. Carrier Scholarship for 2016.
Hall, a full-time student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in applied management, is also an assistant cook for Penn College Dining Services.
Scholarship applicants were evaluated based on their work experience, leadership roles, scholastic honors, extracurricular activities, and recommendations from their managers and advisers.
Application was open to students who are enrolled at any member institution of NACUFS Mid-Atlantic Region, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and are employed by the institution’s food service for a minimum of one year or enrolled in a field of study with a focus on the food-service industry.
In addition to pursuing a bachelor’s degree in applied management, Hall holds associate degrees from Penn College in landscape/horticulture technology: landscape emphasis and landscape/horticulture technology: plant production emphasis.
