Emma J. Sutterlin Named ‘Student of the Month’

Emma J. Sutterlin, an applied health studies: occupational therapy assistant concentration major from State College, has been chosen as the December/January "Student of the Month" at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

A Resident Assistant in on-campus housing and a “Link” in Penn College’s Connections orientation program, Sutterlin is a 2013 graduate of State College Area High School. She anticipates receiving her bachelor’s degree from the college in May 2018 and is scheduled to complete her associate degree in occupational therapy assistant this August.



Emma J. Sutterlin“Emma is a dedicated student who exemplifies all that it means to be ‘Penn College Proud’,” her nominator said. “She interacts with new students in an extremely welcoming manner, addressing them by name whenever possible.”

Sutterlin is also a member of the Wildcat Events Board, serves as treasurer of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Club, and is a frequent volunteer at Open House and numerous other college activities.

“She’s the smiling, friendly face you see at many campus events, and she is a role model for balancing work, classes and personal involvement,” her nominator continued. “Emma makes Penn College a welcoming place with her enthusiasm, excitement and ability to make people comfortable – even in challenging situations.”

Recognition is bestowed by the college’s Student Government Association numerous times each academic year based on nominees’ commitment, service, role-model behavior, academics, leadership and campus involvement.
