Hot chocolate and warm camaraderie were the perfect accessories for Wednesday's traditional lighting of the holiday cards outside the Breuder Advanced Technology & Health Sciences Center, a ceremony moved indoors to escape the damp and chilly weather. Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour announced the winners. chosen in online balloting by 630 faculty, staff and students. The Penn College Construction Association was awarded $200 as the first-place winner among student organizations. The Physician Assistant Club was second, gaining $150 for its organizational account, and The Penn College Veterans Club ($100) was third. Among campus offices, Madigan Library won first prize for the second consecutive year, followed by Mail and Document Services in second and Financial Operations in third. The library wins lunch at Le Jeune Chef for all decorating participants; the second- and third-prize departmental winners will be treated to breakfast at the restaurant. The card-lighting ceremony included Student Government Association President Zachary T. Peachey, as well as refreshments inside and a "Personacards" station for self-expression of holiday wishes.
