Penn College Homecoming Celebration to Be Held Oct. 7-11

Alumni, students, employees and friends of Pennsylvania College of Technology can reminisce about “Our Proud Penn College Days” – a line from the institution’s alma mater – as they celebrate Homecoming 2015 from Oct. 7-11.

Among the public highlights are a Homecoming Carnival from 6 p.m. to closing time Friday, 1 p.m. to close on Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Bartlebaugh Amusements Inc. is set up on the Madigan Library lawn, with thrill rides, games, food and fun. Eh440, an a cappella group from Canada, will perform on the midway at 7 p.m. Saturday.



The Homecoming Carnival returns to the Madigan Library lawn from Oct. 9-11.The public is also invited to several other events, including a flag football game at 6 p.m. Wednesday on the Athletic Field and the David London My Last Words Lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium. This year’s student-nominated presenter is Bruce A. Wehler, assistant professor of English composition.

Wildcat sports fans can enjoy a men's soccer game against Wells College at 5 p.m. Thursday; the women's squad will take on the same opponent at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The community is also welcome at The Gallery at Penn College, where  “A View Within” – a mix of fiber art and medical technology – will open at 4 p.m. Friday. The exhibit, on the third floor of Madigan Library, can additionally be viewed during Homecoming from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Those with more direct ties to the college will have a chance to reconnect throughout the weekend at the fifth annual Alumni Golf Outing; reunions of diesel and heavy construction equipment alumni, Williamsport Area Community College graduates and former members of the Student Government Association; a bonfire/tailgate; Oktoberfest; an alumni/student Ultimate Frisbee matchup; a Glow Run; an Academic Tutor Open House; a “Grub Crawl” of downtown restaurants; and the annual Athletic Hall of Fame dinner.
