Explore Penn College’s ‘Degrees That Work’ at Oct. 25 Open House

The distinctive, hands-on academic programs offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology, a national leader in applied technology education, will be highlighted at Open House on Sunday, Oct. 25.
Held twice a year, Open House at Penn College provides prospective students and their families an opportunity to sample campus life and learn about 100-plus bachelor’s and associate degrees and certificates.
A special mission affiliate of Penn State, Penn College is renowned for its small class sizes, faculty with real-world work experience, industry partnerships and an overall graduate-placement rate of 95 percent. The college has been designated a “Military Friendly School” for its commitment to veterans and active-duty personnel.
Open House participants can meet with faculty and deans, visit labs and classrooms, tour campus with a Student Ambassador, attend a session to explore career options, check out on-campus housing, and interact with current students and alumni. Information will also be presented for student clubs and organizations, athletics, dining services, and campus life.
Representatives from Admissions, Athletics, Dining Services, Financial Aid and Student Activities, among others, will be available to answer questions. Free shuttle bus transportation will be available on main campus, as well as to nearby campuses – the Schneebeli Earth Science Center and the Lumley Aviation Center – hosting additional majors.
Apply during your visit, and the application fee is waived.
“Fall Open House is the ideal way for interested students and their families to learn about the distinctive programs offered by Penn College,” said Carolyn R. Strickland, vice president for enrollment management/associate provost. “Tours of classrooms, labs and residence halls will showcase our state-of-the-art campus. Live demonstrations will provide a firsthand glimpse into what makes Penn College a national leader in applied technology.”
“Participants will have the opportunity to speak with deans of the academic schools, faculty, students, athletic coaches, financial aid representatives and staff from all over campus to learn more about our hands-on education, excellent career placement rates and Penn College student life,” she added. “After spending the day on campus, we hope that students will understand the value of the ‘degrees that work’ offered by Penn College.”
