Penn College Offering Technology Courses for Senior Citizens

Adults 55 and older who want to learn more about using today’s technology may enroll in courses being offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s main campus in Williamsport.
The classes, offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College, require no previous computer knowledge.
A Computer Camp for Adults 55+ class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 3 and 10. This is a fun course that introduces the computer for enjoyment purposes. The instructor will lead participants through entertaining games, emailing friends and family, surfing the Internet, Facebook, and basic word processing for letter writing. The class is paced for the novice and includes time for questions and answers in a relaxed, stress-free environment. The cost is $99.
An iPad & iPhone for Adults 55+ class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 13 and 20. This class is designed for those new to an iPad or iPhone. Learn how to enter information and efficiently use finger gestures while navigating the Internet. Additional topics include playing music, capturing photos and shooting videos. Explore common applications included on the devices, as well as free applications available in the App Store. Includes time for questions and answers. Devices must be Internet-ready via cellular or Wi-Fi access. In addition, participants should have a previously created Apple ID for App Store access. The cost is $99.
