PPL Corp. Donates $3,000 to College’s Electrical Technology Program
Friday, June 5, 2015
A $3,000 donation from PPL Corp. will benefit students in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s various electrical majors.
Teri MacBride, PPL’s regional affairs director, recently presented the check to the college’s Institutional Advancement Office for use in the School of Industrial, Computing & Engineering Technologies’ Electrical Technology Program.
“PPL has been a generous supporter of Penn College for years in a variety of ways, including annual cash gifts and in-kind donations,” said Elizabeth A. Biddle, the college’s director of corporate relations. “We appreciate the continued support for students and program with this donation.”
The school offers a bachelor’s degree in building automation technology; associate degrees in electrical technology, electromechanical maintenance technology, mechatronics engineering technology and renewable energy technologies; and a certificate in electrical occupations.
“We have seen the college electrical program grow. It does a great job of preparing students for technical careers,” MacBride said. “PPL provides financial support to community organizations and supports economic and community development initiatives, helping create jobs and growth opportunities for local economies.”
PPL is a longtime supporter of the college – visiting Career Fairs and holding other on-campus recruitment efforts to attract Penn College students and alumni – and has strengthened a variety of majors and programs with financial contributions, equipment donations and technical expertise.
