Wednesday, February 18, 2015
Carol A. Lugg has been named assistant dean for the School of Construction & Design Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Lugg most recently was director of the Office of Transfer Initiatives, smoothing incoming students’ pathways to bachelor’s degrees and furthering articulation agreements with two-year institutions in majors that dovetail with Penn College’s academic offerings.
“Carol is a great addition to the leadership team in Construction & Design Technologies,” said Paul L. Starkey, vice president for academic affairs/provost. “She has extensive experience in higher education in a number of roles. I am impressed with her commitment to students and effective teaching. She is creative and brings great enthusiasm to her work."
Previously, Lugg was coordinator of matriculation and retention in the college’s former School of Natural Resources Management. She has worked in higher education for nearly 20 years, holding positions in student affairs, academic affairs and athletics.
“We are excited that Carol will be joining the School of Construction & Design in her new role,” said Marc E. Bridgens, dean of the school. “Her enthusiasm, determination and fresh ideas will be a welcome addition. Having knowledge of the programs through her articulation efforts will expedite her transition and provide great resources for the faculty, staff and students.”
Lugg is pursuing a Doctorate of Education in administration and leadership studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Master of Science in physical education/administration track from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, and a Bachelor of Science in Education in psychology/health and physical education from Bluffton College, Bluffton, Ohio.
