Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling and women’s basketball teams each scored victories over the past week.
Wrestling
On Saturday at Gettysburg, four Penn College wrestlers were perfect in three matches as the Wildcats finished 1-2 as a team. Going unbeaten in the quadrangular were Kyle Sunseri, of Athens, at 141 pounds, with a win by forfeit, win by decision and win by major decision; Slade Storm, of New Oxford, at 149, with two falls and a win by forfeit; Mason Replogle, of New Enterprise, at 157, with a pin, decision and major decision; and Troy Leid, of Terre Hill, at 165, with wins by forfeit, decision and pin. Also for Penn College, Dan Frankenfield, of Dushore, went 2-1 at 184 and 174 with wins by decision and fall and a loss by decision. In team action, the Wildcats lost to Gettysburg, 30-15; blanked Southern Virginia, 49-0; and lost to King’s College, 26-26 (criteria, total match points in non-fall bouts), to go to 2-9 on the season.
Women’s Basketball
On Jan. 11 in an 87-36 North Eastern Athletic Conference win at Wilson College, Alicia Ross, of Williamsport, scored a career-high 29 points, shooting 11 of 12 from the field and 7 of 8 from the foul line. Charese Bova, of Beech Creek, picked up her eighth double-double of the season with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Wildcats. Penn College opened a 49-21 halftime lead and coasted from there.
After several first-half lead changes and ties, conference unbeaten Penn State Abington opened a 35-30 halftime lead then pulled away in the second half for a 69-42 NEAC win Tuesday. Jamie Steer, of South Williamsport, led the Lady Wildcats offense with nine points and Bova ended with 18 rebounds.
Hosting NEAC foe St. Elizabeth on Saturday, Penn College won, 96-76, to go to 5-3 in the conference and 6-6 overall and claim sole possession of third place in the South Division. Steer scored a game-high 35 points and snared 13 rebounds while Bova tallied 18 points and 19 rebounds, Ross scored 21 points and dished out nine assists and Danielle Mowery, of Shamokin, added 11 points.
Through Saturday, Penn State Abington led the South Division with a 6-0 record and was followed by Lancaster Bible at 6-1, Penn College at 5-3, St. Elizabeth and Gallaudet, both 4-3; Bryn Athyn, 3-3; and Wilson College and Penn State Berks, both 0-6.
On Monday, it was announced that Ross was named the NEAC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week as she averaged 21.7 points per game on 65 percent (22 of 34) shooting from the field and 82 percent (18 of 22) shooting from the free-throw line and averaging 5.7 steals in three conference games.

At Wilson College on Jan. 11, despite its highest offensive output in nearly five years, Penn College dropped a 111-105 NEAC decision in overtime. Kevin Laurence-El, of Milton, and Nathaniel Brown, of Philadelphia, each finished with 25 points for the Wildcats while Ezra Adams, of Muncy, and Bryce Lonsway, of Tiffin, Ohio, each scored 14 points and LaQuinn Thompson, of York, added 13. A 7-0 Wilson run during the overtime period, during which the home team outscored Penn College 22-16, was pivotal. During the 2009-10 season, the Wildcats reached the century mark three times: a 102-96 win on Nov. 9, 2009, over Central Penn; a 106-71 win over Penn State New Kensington on Jan. 30, 2010; and a 117-100 win over Penn State Hazleton on Feb. 9, 2010.
At home on Tuesday, the Wildcats fell to Penn State Abington, 90-64, to drop to 1-6 in the NEAC and 2-11 overall. Brown led Penn College with 13 points while Thomas Ross, of Williamsport, added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
As of Sunday, Lancaster Bible led the NEAC Southern Division with a 6-0 record, followed by Penn State Abington, 4-2; Gallaudet, 3-2; Wilson College, 2-3; Penn State Berks and Bryn Athyn, both 2-3; and Penn College.
