Walton Appointed Assistant Dean at Penn College

Brian D. Walton has been named assistant dean of business and hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Walton had served as coordinator of academic operations for the School of Business & Hospitality since June 2013.

“Brian Walton is an excellent addition to the leadership team in the School of Business & Hospitality,” said Paul L. Starkey, vice president for academic affairs/provost. “Brian brings great creativity and energy to the role of assistant dean. He has produced excellent results in working with the faculty to assure our students of the best educational experience possible.”

Walton has been employed at Penn College since 2009, when he joined the staff as an admissions representative. He also served as coordinator of matriculation and retention for the college’s former School of Business & Computer Technologies before becoming coordinator of academic operations for the School of Business & Hospitality.

He has served as an adviser for the Student Government Association, the Information Technology Living Learning Community and the Hospitality Living Learning Community at the college. He has served on College Council within the Internal Governance System and on various committees including First Year Experience, Judicial Review and marketing-related committees.

He also serves as an adjunct instructor, teaching courses in business administration and management.

Walton holds a Master of Arts in organizational management from Ashford University, Clinton, Iowa. He earned an associate degree in heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology and a bachelor’s degree in technology management from Penn College.
