Welding Basics to Be Taught in WDCE Course at Penn College

A basic welding course is being offered this fall by Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
The 40-hour noncredit program comprises five eight-hour training sessions. Participants can learn the four basic processes of oxy-fuel, shielded-metal arc, gas metal arc and gas tungsten arc welding. Skills are developed through hands-on practice with a strong emphasis on safety.
The sessions will run on Saturdays (Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 22 and Dec. 6) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program will be held in the Avco-Lycoming Metal Trades Center on the college’s main campus in Williamsport. The cost is $749.
