Wendy A. Miller has been named director of academic services at Pennsylvania College of Technology, effective July 1.
Miller began her employment at Penn College in 2004. Most recently, she served as assistant registrar.
In her new position, she has responsibility for student academic issues, including oversight of academic-review processes, appeals and re-enrollment. Additionally, she oversees the Academic Affairs budget and collaborates with school deans to prioritize and coordinate the purchase of instructional equipment and upgrades to academic spaces.
“We are pleased to welcome Wendy to her new role,” said Paul L. Starkey, vice president for academic affairs/provost. “Her 10-plus years of experience at the college has prepared her well. She has a great eye for detail and a tremendous work ethic. The deans, faculty and I look forward to working with Wendy for many years to assure the quality of Penn College programs and to work to help our students succeed.”
Other positions Miller has held at Penn College include manager of portal development and college documentation, technical writer/editor, and Information Technology Services technical writer/training coordinator.
She also served as an adjunct faculty member, teaching Technical Communication and First-Year Experience courses.
Miller holds a Bachelor of Science in technical and professional communication from Penn College and a Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from Wilkes University.
She is a graduate of Leadership Lycoming and a member of Educause.
