John F. Blasdell has been hired as a client development specialist with Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Blasdell will provide expertise and leadership for WDCE client-development initiatives and operations in northcentral Pennsylvania. He will have responsibility for development, implementation and management of client projects in the areas of education, training and consultation.
“John’s lengthy experience in meeting the workforce-training needs of employers is a welcome addition to WDCE at Penn College,” said Shannon M. Munro, WDCE executive director. “We look forward to providing customized training, with a focus on fulfilling technical-skill needs, in the region.”
Over the past 15 years, Blasdell has held various positions with Continuing Education at Penn State DuBois, overseeing the strategic, operational and administrative aspects of the department. With this hiring, Penn College can provide the technical skills training needed by employers and enhance the excellent work Penn State is doing in the area.
Prior to his employment with Penn State, he was the Job Training Office manager in DuBois for the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission.
Blasdell holds a Bachelor of Science in education from Clarion University and a Master of Science in workforce education and development from Penn State.
He is a former member of the Greater DuBois Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, former secretary of the DuBois Area Economic Development Corp., former president of the Human Resources Management Association of North Central Pennsylvania, and a past member of the Business Education Partnership. He is currently a board member with the Brockway Center for the Arts and Technology.
