ASE Certification Testing Offered July, August at Penn College

Friday, June 13, 2014

Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology partners with the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence and Prometric to offer certification tests at the college’s main campus in Williamsport.

Since 1972, ASE has offered certification exams to automotive professionals as a way for them to receive recognition in their field of expertise. In addition to passing certification exams, automotive technicians must have two years of on-the-job training or one year of training and an associate degree in automotive repair in order to qualify for ASE certification.

More than 40 exams are offered for cars and light trucks, collision repair, medium-heavy truck, truck equipment, school and transit buses, and auto and truck parts. Exams range from $33 to $66 and must be paid for prior to scheduling, along with a $36 registration fee.

The ASE summer test session begins in July and runs through the end of August. WDCE has four test sessions scheduled for July and seven set for August. Morning sessions run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., afternoon sessions from noon to 4 p.m. and evening sessions from 4 to 8 p.m.

Register for exams through ASE or by calling 1-877-346-9327. For more information regarding specific test dates and times, and to reserve a testing time slot, call 570-327-4775 or visit WDCE's certification web page.
