Dance Team Holds 'Take the Stage' Fundraiser

The Wildcat Dance Team held its spring "Take the Stage" dance production Saturday afternoon in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium. The biannual team fundraiser included performances by students from the Milissa Augustine Dance Academy in Williamsport and the Cumberland Valley High School Dance Team from Mechanicsburg. The production showcased numerous styles of dance from jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, street funk and modern to pointe, Broadway jazz, character, contemporary, baton and African rhythms – all to the accompaniment of traditional, urban and contemporary music. The college dance team recently returned from instruction in New York and the Cumberland Valley guests were named national hip-hop dance champions at a March competition in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
