Weil Named USCAA, PSUAC ‘Baseball Hitter of the Week’

Zachary A. WeilPenn College junior Zachary A. Weil, of Kutztown, has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for the period ending April 6. In the team’s 4-3 week, Weil hit .389 (7-18) and drove in in 12 runs. His efforts helped the team sweep Penn State Scranton and Penn State Hazleton in conference doubleheaders. This season, Weil is hitting .348 (16-46) with a team-leading 21 RBIs. He has also hit two home runs, a triple and four doubles. Behind the plate, the building science and sustainable design: building construction technology concentration major has recorded 104 putouts with a .966 fielding percentage. Weil and the Wildcats host Penn State Wilkes-Barre for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
