Construction Grad Honored by State Association as 'Builder of the Year'

An alumnus of Williamsport Area Community College was accorded Pennsylvania Builders Association "Builder of the Year" honors during the group's recent Installation Banquet and Awards Gala at the Radisson Lackawanna Station in Scranton. Warren A. Peter, of Warren Peter Construction Inc. was recognized for his impact on the construction industry and his service to PBA, the National Association of Home Builders, and his local Indiana-Armstrong Builders Association. More than 200 guests were on hand for the presentation to Peter, who earned a degree in building and construction technology from Penn College's immediate predecessor in 1974. Peter has served the association in multiple capacities in his 31 years as a member, as a Life Director of the Board of Directors, as chair of multiple committees such as the PA Foundation for Housing and Workforce Training & Development, and as the secretary, vice president and 2012 president of PBA. Peter is very active in the Indiana-Armstrong Builders Association, serving as secretary, vice president and president, as well as membership chair. He has also served his community as chair of the Craft Committee for Carpentry and as a proctor for student exams at the Indiana County Technology Center; building homes for lower-income families with the Indiana County Homes and Habitat for Humanity programs; and construction of facilities for the Homer City and Punxsutawney baseball boosters.
