Wildcat Student-Athletes Again Serve as Literacy Ambassadors
Tuesday, March 4, 2014
Thirteen Penn College student-athletes made the short trip to Williamsport's Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School on Tuesday to take part in the annual "Reading with the Wildcats" program. The student-athletes staged a play based on Dr. Seuss' "Daisy-Head Mayzie," read books to individual classrooms and answered questions about how reading helps them in their academic pursuits. The initiative is part of "Read Across America," which celebrates the importance of reading and typically coincides with the March 2 birthday of Dr. Seuss.
