Wednesday, December 18, 2013
A Pennsylvania College of Technology student is one of 30 nationwide recipients of a $1,000 grant from the Ohio-based Davey Tree Expert Co.
Samuel J. VanDeLinde, a landscape/horticulture technology: landscape emphasis student from Williamsport, was awarded a Davey Tree Arbor Grant, which provides financial assistance to students enrolled in “green”-related career fields – including two of Penn College’s curricular areas: landscape/horticulture technology and forest technology.
“Sam is one of the hardest-working students I know,” said horticulture instructor Carl J. Bower Jr., who endorsed VanDeLinde’s grant application. “His performance in class is matched only by his drive and desire to excel in the lab.”
