Cadets from Bison Battalion gathered at Penn College on Saturday night for their fall formal-dining event. This year’s occasion was a Dining In, in which members of a military unit assemble – without a significant number of guests – to build camaraderie, hear from a speaker or two and playfully ridicule one another. Guests were college President Davie Jane Gilmour and Carolyn R. Strickland, assistant vice president for academic services. Drawing on examples from Abraham Lincoln's life, Strickland offered remarks about leadership, service and generosity. The administrators watched skits in which cadets poked fun at stereotypes that the battalion's individual schools (Penn College; Bucknell, Bloomsburg and Susquehanna universities; and Lycoming College) have about one another.
