Career Services recently hosted two Etiquette Dinners for Caterpillar scholarship recipients and their donors, as well as for students in the Physical Fitness Specialist program. Amelia A. Seaton, dining room manager at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant, instructed students in a number of important areas, such as proper choice of utensils, how to know which bread plate and drink go with which place setting, the correct way to excuse oneself in order to use the restroom or how to leave flatware at the end of the meal. More importantly, attendees learned how proper table manners can help project confidence and maturity to a prospective employer. “It’s a great opportunity for students to handle proper eating, while thinking about carrying on a business-like conversation, which is something they’re going to have to be able to gracefully do in interviews” said Career Services' Dana R. Suter, who has coordinated the event for the past few years. The final Etiquette Dinner for the fall series is Tuesday, Nov. 12. Please contact Career Services for registration details.
