Penn College Offers Noncredit Computer Classes in Wellsboro

Several easy-to-learn computer courses, offered by Pennsylvania College of Technology’s North Campus in the Wellsboro Area Senior High School and Administration Building, will allow participants to sharpen their computer skills while learning something new.
The classes are taught by qualified instructors at a comfortable pace for all levels of adult learners. They are held in a relaxed computer classroom environment, allowing participants to learn, experiment and ask questions. Classes are hands-on with one person per computer.
Microsoft Word Level I will help the computer user master the essentials of word-processing and creating, saving, formatting, editing and printing documents. This class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Sept. 23 and 30, at the high school.
Microsoft Excel Level I is designed for those wanting to learn about creating and managing worksheets, performing calculations, and managing and printing workbooks. This class will be held Sept. 17 and 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. A daytime class is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 18 in the administration building.
Microsoft Excel Level II is for those desiring the more advanced skills necessary for calculating data using functions and formulas, sorting and filtering data using PivotTables for analyzing data, and customizing workbooks. This class is scheduled for Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the administration building.
Microsoft Excel Level III guides participants into some of the more specialized and advanced capabilities of Excel. Topics include automating tasks, applying analysis techniques to data sets and sharing Excel data with other applications. This class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 13 in the administration building.
The cost for the Microsoft classes is $159 each and includes a manual for reference.
Computer Camp for Adults 55+ will be offered on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fun course introduces the computer for enjoyment purposes. Topics include email, locating information on the Internet, eBay, games and other interesting applications. The cost for the class is $99, which includes a reference guide for further practice.
