Thursday, July 18, 2013

Is a rewarding career in nursing in your future? The practical nursing program at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s North Campus is scheduling pre-admission testing for the class beginning in January.

Pre-admission testing must be completed before the application process begins. All applications for the January class must be submitted by Oct. 1.

The yearlong, full-time program is offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College and prepares graduates for career opportunities in area hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, personal-care facilities and human-service organizations.

Students attend classes at the North Campus, located in Wellsboro Senior High School, and have clinical experiences at Susquehanna Health facilities including Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital and The Green Home. Other long-term-care clinical experiences are obtained at Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The North Campus program is fully approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Students who successfully complete the program will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as an LPN. Financial aid is available.

For more information about pre-admission testing, admission requirements, the admissions process or financial aid for the program, contact the North Campus at 570-724-7703.
