The Pennsylvania College of Technology Athletics Department has named Adam W. Matter as head coach of the men’s soccer team.
“Adam is another great addition to our staff,” said Scott E. Kennell, director of athletics. “I have every confidence that he will continue Penn College’s strong soccer tradition.”
Matter comes to Penn College after serving as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Lycoming College from 2011-13. There, he coordinated recruiting efforts, generated scouting reports and developed a conditioning program for the team. Prior to Lycoming, Matter was the assistant women’s coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he led team practice sessions and trained goalkeepers in addition to recruiting and conditioning roles.
“I am very excited to be taking the next step in my soccer career,” Matter said. “Penn College men’s soccer has been a top contender year in and out and I am honored to have the opportunity to be its leader.”
Matter is a graduate of IUP, earning a bachelor's degree in physical education and sport/exercise science. a native of the area, he resides in Montoursville. He will assume head coaching duties immediately.
