Penn College's president was recognized on the state Senate floor Monday for assuming leadership of the Little League Baseball International Board of Directors. “The Senate of Pennsylvania today honors Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour upon being named the first female chair in the 74-year history of Little League,” said state Sen. Gene Yaw, R-Loyalsock Township, who introduced her to his colleagues. “Dr. Gilmour and the members of the Little League International Board of Directors are volunteers in this service to Little League and are dedicated to working on behalf of the children of the world. I applaud her commitment and enthusiasm and on behalf of the entire Senate would like to honor and recognize her in this new role.” The president was joined in Harrisburg by her husband, Fred, and Stephen D. Keener, president and chief executive officer of Little League International. "Whether it's Little League youth or college students or earning a 'degree that works,' I spend most of my time being inspired by young people, as they are, in fact, our future," the president remarked.
