Christopher J. Allebach, at the summit of Mount WashingtonSome people celebrate their dream-come-true moments by shouting, "I'm going to Disney World!" but a new Penn College alumnus literally went to extremes in marking his triumph. During a vacation in New England, Christopher J. Allebach – who graduated May 18 with a bachelor's degree in computer aided product design – traveled to the summit of Mount Washington, N.H. Clad in a Penn College hoodie and holding his diploma at 6,288 feet, the windswept Allebach was photographed May 22 at the "Home of the World's Worst Weather." How cool is that? At midmorning Wednesday, the wind chill was below freezing. And earlier this week, the observatory there recorded a 12-hour swing from snowy, 123-mph gusts to more-moderate temperatures and the thawing dawn of spring. Starting a new season of his own, Allebach begins work Monday as a mechanical designer for Dorman Products Inc.
