The 20th annual "Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work Day" was observed at Penn College on Thursday, giving employees' children an on-the-job glimpse into the future. After an icebreaker activity and presidential welcome in Penn's Inn, the visitors heard presentations from Rich Hill, an educational specialist for the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources; explored careers in fitness with college faculty and students; and learned how paramedics must "expect the unexpected" when responding to emergency medical situations. Student Ambassadors led the group on a campus tour before lunch in the Capitol Eatery, where parents and guests alike – alerted to bring their cameras because "you never know who might show up" – met a campus celebrity. Themed "Work in Progress," the day ended with participants job-shadowing their parents and mentors.
