Marc T. Kaylor, an aviation maintenance technology major from Annville, has won the right to represent Penn College at the 49th annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City, Mo., this summer. Because there is no aviation category at the state level, the college annually holds its own qualifying event. Kaylor earned the title in a close competition involving weight-and-balance calculations, electrical connections, installation of safety wire and hose fittings, and a written test. Ryan A. Gibson, an aviation technology student from Lansdale, was runner-up. Also competing at the Lumley Aviation Center on Saturday were Jeffrey T. Bassler, of New Windsor, Md., enrolled in aviation maintenance technology, and Trevor D. Dietrich, of Quakertown, an aviation technology student.
