March 23 Open House to Highlight Penn College’s Hands-On Majors
Thursday, March 7, 2013
An Open House on Saturday, March 23, offers prospective students and families an opportunity to explore Pennsylvania College of Technology’s diverse “degrees that work” while touring the modern campus and participating in an array of activities.
Open House will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the main campus in Williamsport; free transportation will be provided to and from the college’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood and the Lumley Aviation Center at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville.
“Spring Open House is the place to find out what we are all about,” said Dennis L. Correll, associate dean for admissions and financial aid. “From our state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, dining facilities and residence halls, you can quickly see what distinguishes Penn College as the place to earn a degree and stand apart from other graduates.”
“Penn College’s next Career Fair will host 21 Fortune 500 companies,” Correll added. “Businesses nationwide are facing a projected shortage of 600,000 educated and skilled employees in the coming years, and companies large and small look to Penn College to assist them in filling such positions.
“One of the most-heard observations from graduating Penn College students is they have been able to learn alongside industry-experienced faculty, using the latest equipment and technologies. Those experiences with faculty help connect students to Fortune 500 companies upon graduation. Once you visit Penn College, you will know this is the right place to start your future career.”
Open House visitors may participate in a variety of activities at the college, a special mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University and a national leader in applied technology education.
