'Spit Out' Urges Students to Eschew Smokeless Tobacco

Thursday, February 21, 2013

"Great American Spit Out" The detrimental health effects of smokeless tobacco, often marketed inaccurately as a safe alternative to cigarettes, were emphasized during Penn College's participation in the "Great American Spit Out." Arranged by Kristi L. Hammaker, health and fitness specialist (and adviser to the Healthy Wildcats), Thursday's event included literature, tips on quitting and professional support. Set up outside the Keystone Dining Room, the informational display was part of the weeklong "Through With Chew" initiative.
