Seven Penn College Students Improve Belt Ranking at Martial Arts Event

Seven members of Penn College's Martial Arts Club completed a successful belt testing program Saturday at the Field House. Michelle H. Ni, of Berwick; Alexander J. Hilton, of Saegertown; Jeremy P. Hansen, of Williamsport; and Jackson H. Tate, of Howard, achieved their initial yellow-belt ranking; Jonathan E. Harris, of Danville, and Cory L. Buckles, of South Williamsport, earned green belts; and Mathew D. Johnson, of Saylorsburg, reached purple-belt level. They were among approximately 50 students from Penn College, The Pennsylvania State University, Lycoming College, Bucknell University, and the Shotokan of Bath and Nittany Shotokan karate clubs. The Penn College students now look forward to the competitive season, beginning Jan. 26 at West Chester University.
