Going up against PSUAC West Division-unbeaten Penn State Beaver on Saturday, the North Division-leading Wildcats turned the ball over 39 times and suffered their first conference loss of the season, 78-55. Jamie Steer scored 22 points and Matzinger added 10 as Penn College went to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the PSUAC.

In the most recent United States Collegiate Athletic Association Coaches’ Poll, Penn College is ranked No. 10, up two spots.

In nonconference action Monday against Williamson Trade School, the Wildcats lost, 69-62. Jason Greenfield, of Wellsboro, and Christopher Carrington, of Ridley Park, each scored 10 points.

Despite another 19-point scoring effort by Newman, Penn College fell to 1-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference with a 79-62 loss at West Division-leading Penn State Beaver on Saturday. Fenton added 15 points for the Wildcats, but 28 turnovers were too much to overcome.
