Wildcats Honor Graduating Members of Men's Soccer, Women's Volleyball Teams
Monday, October 22, 2012
The Penn College men’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams paid tribute to their graduating members Saturday at the teams’ final regular-season home matches. Men’s soccer honored Daniel E. DeMille, Ethan J. Dunkle and Benjamin W. Shade, while women’s volleyball honored Tara M. Powell.
DeMille, a welding and fabrication engineering technology major from Bethel, is a two-year member of the team. He’s seen action in 10 games this year and has notched one assist in his tenure as a Wildcat. Dunkle, a building science and sustainable design: architectural technology concentration student from Harrisburg, has been on the team for three years. This year, he has played in 14 games and, in his Penn College career, has tallied one goal. Shade, a heating, ventilation and air conditioning design technology major from Fleetwood, is a four-year member of the squad. This season, he was named captain and is third on the team in scoring with seven goals. Powell, a health information technology major from Burgettstown, has been on the team for four years. She leads the Lady Wildcats in offensive efforts and tops all Penn State University Athletic Conference players in aces this season.
None of the four is done yet, as both teams are seeded highly in the conference playoffs. Men’s soccer will host Penn State New Kensington at 5 p.m. Wednesday, while women’s volleyball plays Penn State Mont Alto at 7 that evening.
