Early Childhood Faculty Member Named to Regional Board

Nancy A. GrausamThe annual meeting of the Central Susquehanna Association for the Education of Young Children was held Wednesday at the Dunham Children’s Learning Center at Penn College. Officers were elected during the business meeting, including Nancy A. Grausam, assistant professor of early childhood education, who will serve a two-year term as an at-large board member. Barbara A. Peck, a 2009 graduate of the two-year early childhood education major, was elected program chair. The evening also included a workshop, “Social Emotional Development in Young Children and How to Respond to Deficits,” by board-certified behavior analyst Jennifer Hixson, a clinical and school psychologist from Lewisburg. The workshop drew participants from Columbia, Clinton, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties. Students in Penn College's early childhood education major and the early childhood director competency credential attended for free as part of the organization’s commitment to developing future professionals in the field.
