Operational Leader Program Launches in October at Penn College

Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology will present the first series in its Operational Leader Program beginning Oct. 18.
Operational leaders are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a function within an organization, as well as helping to develop, communicate and implement strategic plans within their specific function.
Each series in the noncredit Operational Leader program consists of three half-days of training. Series I consists of: Leading in Turbulent Times: An Introduction to Operational Leadership, Building Emotional Intelligence Through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and Building and Implementing Internal and External Communication Strategies.
The four-hour sessions will run on Oct. 18 and 25 and Nov. 1. The program is offered at the Center for Business & Workforce Development on the college’s main campus in Williamsport. The courses can also be customized and delivered at employer locations.
Participants may continue with Series II, beginning Nov. 7, and Series III, which will be offered in Spring 2013.
Instructor Eric Bergstrom, an experienced leader of organization development, human resource management and manufacturing/operations management, brings more than 20 years of industry experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in training and development, as well as a Ph.D. in workforce education and development from The Pennsylvania State University.
